Community Blog – May 2025
May has been a huge month for us and we’re finally taking a moment to stop and reflect on everything that has happened in the last few weeks. As you know, we finally launched Blades of Fire across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Epic Games. This was a monumental moment for the team at MercurySteam and 505 Games, who have worked tirelessly on this title for so long. To finally take our community on the journey we’ve been forging for so many years is an incredible feeling. We did it! We actually did it!
LAUNCH TRAILER
Now, let’s look back at the last few weeks and update you on some of the things you might have missed.
DEMO LAUNCH
Remember when we told our community we weren’t looking at launching a demo? Well, that was always the case. We never had any plans to launch a demo. But, our community made it clear they wanted one. And we changed our mind and decided to give the fans what they wanted. On May 15th, we launched a playable demo of Blades of Fire across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Epic Games.
If you’ve not played it yet, well, we’ve packed a lot in the demo. Not only do you get the opportunity to play the first few hours of Blades of Fire, but should you decide to pick up the main game, you’ll be able to carry over your save data and progress. Pretty neat, right?

Welcome to our April 2025 Community Blog! Itâs hard to believe that weâre less than one month away from launching Blades of Fire. It feels like yesterday we announced âProject Ironâ to the world and now weâre getting ourselves geared for launch. Itâs pretty wild! But weâre excited and we know many of you are too!
Today, we want to reflect on the last few weeks and give you an insight into whatâs around the corner.
HEADING STATESIDE
Last month, we packed our suitcases and flew stateside to San Francisco. With GDC in town, we wanted to give press in attendance the opportunity to check out Blades of Fire. GETTING STARTED IN BLADES OF FIREE

Last month, MercurySteam and 505 Games officially announced Blades of Fire, formally known as Project Iron, as part of IGN FanFest. Launching May 22nd, 2025, Blades of Fire will be available on Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The response to our announcement has been truly wonderful, so before we kick things off, we want to say a massive thank you from the team.
Today, in our first monthly community blog, we want to take a moment to look back at everything weâve unveiled so far, treat you to some behind the scenes concept art and answer some of your most frequently asked questions. Letâs get started.
ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER
If youâre new around here, welcome! As mentioned already, during IGN FanFest last month, Blades of Fire was showcased to the outside world for the very first time. In case you missed it, watch our announcement trailer below.
FORGING OUR FIRST PREVIEW EVENT
Just days after announcing Blades of Fire, we made our way to the Quinnell School of Blacksmithing to host our very first preview event. We welcomed press and influencers to not only try their hand at forging in a real-life setting but also play Blades of Fire for the very first time. The sun was shining, the setting was perfect, and we had the best time with great company. A huge thank you to everyone that played a part in making the event a success. We couldnât have done it without you!

One of the most frequently asked questions weâve seen so far is whether weâre looking to launch a physical edition of Blades of Fire. Well, weâre delighted to confirm itâs happening! PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users can pick up a copy on May 22nd, the same day as our digital launch. Check your preferred retailer for more information and to pre-order.
BLADES OF FIRE â GETTING STARTED VIDEO SERIES
We know many of you are very keen to know more about the world of Blades of Fire. This week, we kicked off our Blades of Fire â Getting Started video series, designed to educate our community on what to expect in game. Will there be a physical edition of Blades of Fire?
As mentioned earlier in this blog, yes! Coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the physical edition of Blades of Fire will launch on May 22nd, 2025, the same day as our digital release.
Are there plans for a demo?
There are no plans for a Blades of Fire demo. With how the game has been designed, a demo would only scratch the surface of what Blades of Fire offers. However, with launch just over 2 months away, you donât have long to wait.
Do you have a creator program?
Yes we do! The 505 Creator Circle is a membership club for content creators who share the same passion we do â gaming! By becoming a member of the 505 Games Creator Circle, you will have the opportunity to enjoy behind the scenes content, unique gifts, access to exclusive events, panel discussions etc. For more information, head to the 505 Games website.

Sviluppate le vostre abilitĂ e create armi adatte allo stile di combattimento prescelto. Ricordate: affrontando i nemici, la scelta dell'arma sarĂ fondamentale per ottenere la vittoria! Solo con le armi giuste sarĂ possibile abbattere determinati nemici.
